Powerwall is a fully integrated solar and battery system designed to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Powerwall can store solar or grid energy for later use when the sun goes down or when the electricity prices are high; lowering their electricity bills, reducing their reliance on the grid, and power their homes during a grid outage. Once installed, customers can manage their home energy system using the Tesla App and customize system behavior to meet their energy goals.
Powerwall has the ability to store up to 13.5 kWh of energy and start heavy loads rated up to 185 A LRA, meaning a single Powerwall can support the power needs of most homes. Powerwall is designed for fast and efficient installation and modular system expansion. With multiple Powerwall units and/or Expansions, it is easier and more affordable to scale up customers’ systems to provide 44 kW AC of continuous power and to store up to 94.5 kWh of energy.

Storms Happen—Outages Don’t Have To
Keep your home and all appliances powered during an outage. When severe weather is forecast, Storm Watch will automatically charge Powerwall to its maximum capacity to prepare for an outage. When an outage occurs, Powerwall will help keep your solar system running or, if using grid power, will transition your home to stored energy.
Capture More Solar
With a fully integrated solar inverter, Powerwall can efficiently store solar energy and convert it into electricity to power your home. This means you can capture more of the solar energy your system is already generating during the day and use energy to power your home for free at night.
Charge on Solar
You can optimise your stored energy to charge your electric vehicle with clean energy during the day, at night or during an outage. Adjust your system settings to charge exclusively with excess solar energy.
When your solar system generates more energy than you need, you can store the extra energy with Powerwall and save it for later. Powerwall can also recharge from the grid when electricity rates are low.
